A family exhibition explores chess, mancala, ludo and carrom through play and art.

A Board Game Adventure transforms the Children’s Museum into a journey through play. Chess, mancala, ludo and carrom appear not simply as pastimes, but as cultural stories that travelled between countries, changed their rules and brought generations together.
Visitors encounter early games from Egypt and Mesopotamia, compare boards and strategies, and explore hands-on stations. Familiar games reveal mathematics, imagination and traces of distant history, while adults discover how recognisable forms moved from one culture to another.
Designed for families to experience together, the exhibition runs from 18 July 2026 to 25 April 2027. Allow extra time: this is a place for playing, debating a move and solving challenges together, not merely reading labels.
